Job Description: Insurance Coverage Attorney

Our client, a respected national law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Coverage Attorney to join their team on a fully remote basis. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience handling insurance coverage disputes, advising clients on complex coverage issues, and litigating claims involving policy interpretation. Key Responsibilities:
- Insurance Coverage Disputes: Handle all aspects of insurance coverage matters, including reviewing and interpreting insurance policies, providing coverage opinions, and advising clients on coverage issues related to commercial, personal, and liability insurance.
- Case Management: Manage and oversee complex insurance coverage disputes, including drafting coverage analysis, pleadings, motions, and other critical legal documents.
- Litigation & Arbitration: Represent clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings involving insurance coverage disputes. Draft motions, manage discovery, and prepare for trial when necessary.
- Policy Interpretation: Analyze and interpret insurance policies, endorsements, and exclusions to determine coverage applicability, providing clients with clear, actionable legal advice.
- Client Interaction: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide timely updates, strategic legal advice, and resolve any questions regarding insurance claims and disputes.
- Risk Assessment & Strategy: Advise clients on risk management strategies, assess potential exposure in coverage disputes, and assist with settlement negotiations.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure the effective management of cases and adherence to deadlines.
- Legal Research & Writing: Conduct thorough legal research on emerging insurance coverage issues and stay current with state and federal regulations. Draft high-quality legal opinions, memoranda, and other written materials.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- License: Active license to practice law in California.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in insurance coverage law, with a focus on litigation and policy analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of various types of insurance coverage, including commercial general liability (CGL), professional liability, property insurance, and D&O (Directors and Officers) insurance.
